SOUND PROOFING / ACOUSTIC
Whether for new or existing construction, there are many ways to reduce noise levels in our environment and therefore improve comfort and quality of life.
There are two main sources of noise: Airborne noise (Rw), (voices, traffic etc.) and the Impact noise (Lw), they are measured in decibels (dB).
To measure insulation materials efficiency to impacts, we generally measure the difference in (dB) decibels levels between impact on the material and the material plus insulation (Ln). The higher the delta, the better the results.
We can also measure the efficiency by measuring the level of noise left after passing the insulation material; the less noise left the better the results.
